The Director of Sales & Marketing is a key position within the company. The candidate will have a high level of understanding of the market, the construction industry and our business model. The director of sales and marketing is responsible for planning and implementing sales, marketing, communication and product development programs. Building relationships, understanding our clients’ needs, connecting marketing expenditures to increase market share and increase companywide sales opportunities, positioning and developing our brand are key to success in this role. This position requires a strong leader managing sales and marketing professionals to meet sales goals, connecting marketing initiatives with return on investment, and embracing our core values and vision to contribute to the company’s culture.
Develops and implements strategic marketing plans, sales plans and forecasts to achieve corporate objectives for products and services (existing and new).
Oversees and evaluates market research and adjusts marketing strategy to meet changing market, competitive conditions and customer satisfaction.
Directs product research and development. Develops and recommends product positioning and pricing strategy to produce the highest possible long-term market share.
Achieves satisfactory profit/loss ratio and market share in relation to preset standards and industry and economic trends.
Establishes and maintains a consistent corporate image throughout all product lines, launching materials. Develops marketing activities that are in line with the brands value proposition and key messaging
Plans and Directs market channel activities; oversees advertising and launching activities including print, online, electronic media, and direct mail.
Ensures effective control of marketing results, and takes corrective action to guarantee that achievement of marketing objectives falls within designated budgets.
Monitors competitor products, sales and marketing activities.
Develops and manages sales/marketing operating budgets. Directs sales forecasting activities and sets performance goals accordingly.
Guides preparation of marketing activity reports and presents to executive management.
Prepares periodic sales report showing sales volume, potential sales, and areas of proposed client base expansion.
Reviews and analyzes sales performances against programs, quotes and plans to determine effectiveness.
Manages all website development and optimization to ensure the best user experience is offered
Directs staffing, training, and performance evaluations to develop and control sales and marketing programs.
Assists other departments within organization to prepare manuals and technical publications.
Identify any relevant PR opportunities for the brand
Represents company at exhibitions to promote products.
Establishes and maintains relationships with key strategic partners.
Bachelor Degree or higher in commerce or marketing field
10 years of sales and marketing experience, preferably in the real estate/construction industry.
5 years’ experience managing sales and marketing professionals demonstrating a proven record of systemic processes, accountability and exceeding goals.
A proven understanding of best practices in sales/marketing fundamentals
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills - strong in negotiations, problem solving and strong presentation skills.
Ability to think strategically and creatively using sound business judgement
Proficient in Microsoft Office products.
Exceptional organizational skills and the ability to prioritize and manage deadlines
Ability to work and multitask in a fast pace environment.
